text-indent: 0in; line-height: normal;\" align=\"left\"><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">Le 12 Juin 2009, le volcan Sarychev situ\u00e9 \u00e0 la pointe de l\u2019\u00eele Kourile Ostrov Matua a connu une \u00e9ruption spectaculaire<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: blue;\">.<\/span><\/span> L&rsquo;\u00e9v\u00e9nement a laiss\u00e9 derri\u00e8re lui une modification de l&rsquo;\u00eele.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; text-indent: 0in; line-height: normal;\" align=\"left\"><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">Acquises par l\u2019ASTER (Spaceborne Advanced Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer) embarqu\u00e9 sur le satellite TERRA de la NASA, ces images montrent l&rsquo;\u00eele Ostrov Matua le 30 juin 2009 peu de temps apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;\u00e9ruption (photo du haut) et la situation observ\u00e9e le 26 mai 2007 (photo du bas ).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; text-indent: 0in; line-height: normal;\" align=\"left\"><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">Dans ces images en fausses couleurs, la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation appara\u00eet en rouge, l&rsquo;eau appara\u00eet de couleur bleu fonc\u00e9, et les nuages, la vapeur d&rsquo;eau et la glace apparaissent en blanc. Les roches volcaniques, y compris les anciennes coul\u00e9es de lave et les d\u00e9bris de l&rsquo;\u00e9ruption r\u00e9cente, vont du gris au brun fonc\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; text-indent: 0in; line-height: normal;\" align=\"left\"><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">La diff\u00e9rence la plus frappante entre ces deux images est le rev\u00eatement gris sur la moiti\u00e9 nord-ouest de l&rsquo;\u00eele en Juin 2009. Bien que la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation sur le reste de l&rsquo;\u00eele semble luxuriante, des d\u00e9bris volcaniques, probablement un m\u00e9lange de coul\u00e9es pyroclastiques et de cendres ont recouvert la quasi-totalit\u00e9 de la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation sur l&rsquo;extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 nord-ouest. L&rsquo;image du haut r\u00e9v\u00e8le \u00e9galement que l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 volcanique r\u00e9cente semble avoir agrandi l&rsquo;\u00eele sur la c\u00f4te nord-ouest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; text-indent: 0in; line-height: normal;\" align=\"left\"><span lang=\"FR\" xml:lang=\"FR\">Une autre diff\u00e9rence entre les images a trait \u00e0 la couverture de neige. L&rsquo;image de mai 2007, montre une alternance de zones avec et sans neige. La v\u00e9g\u00e9tation en rose-gris, sugg\u00e8re que le d\u00e9gel du printemps est toujours en cours.
